
GRADY, AL --- Senior Justin Minor, a 5'9" guard from Starkville, MS, scored a season-high 31 points here on Dec. 16 as the Lyman Ward Running Rangers earned a decisive 73 - 46 victory over South Montgomery County Academy (SMCA). The win gives the varsity team a 4 - 2 record going into the two-week holiday break.
ABBEVILLE, AL, Dec. 12 - The Varsity Rangers basketball team used a smothering man-to-man defense and its trademark half court trap to great effectiveness, but fell short to lose by a single point in overtime, 65 - 64, to Abbeville Christian Academy.
The loss gives the Rangers a 3 - 2 record on the season.
CAMP HILL – Coach Sheldon Ward's Junior Varsity basketball team won its first game of the 2008 – 2009 season, defeating visiting Chambers Academy of Lafayette, AL, 39-30, on Dec. 9.

CAMP HILL, AL --- Lyman Ward's varsity basketball team picked up its defensive intensity in the fourth quarter and sealed a 67 - 63 victory over the Ashford Academy Falcons before a raucous home crowd on Friday night, Dec. 5.
The Rangers go to 3 - 0 on the young season, while Ashford falls to 3 - 4.
ENTERPRISE, AL - Lyman Ward's Varsity Basketball team notched its second consecutive victory here over Enterprise Prep, 85 - 33, on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The Running Rangers got off to a 17 - 12 start in the first quarter and never looked back, leading the entire game.
CAMP HILL -- Lyman Ward Military Academy's first basketball season as a member of the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) Class 1A got off to a good start with a 69 - 32 win over Enterprise Prep at home on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Cadet Ryan Ferrara of Germantown, TN has been selected as the county DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Competition winner.
