Wogan Scholarship

Camp Hill, AL - David M. Wogan, a fourth-year senior cadet from Slidell, LA, has been offered a Corps of Cadets Scholarship from Texas A & M University in College Station, TX.

Wogan, who is an Eagle Scout, was invited to participate in the Texas A & M Corps of Cadets Aggie Eagle Program the weekend of Sept. 28 – 29.  Lt. Gen. John A. Van Alstyne (USA Ret.) presented the scholarship to Wogan on Sept. 28.  The Aggie Eagle Scholarship Program has as its purpose “forging leaders of character.”  Wogan was praised for his academic achievements and leadership abilities demonstrated at Lyman Ward.

Wogan serves as Executive Officer in the Lyman Ward Corps of Cadets.  He has been a consistent Dean’s List student and currently ranks first academically in the Class of 2008.  He is a member of the Academy’s Beta Club academic honor society, and plays on the varsity football and soccer teams.

Wogan was selected to participate on the Academy’s Sword Drill team last year, and was named most valuable rifleman on the Academy’s Rifle Team.  Other awards he has received include  Cadet of the Month, NCO of the Month, and Best Drilled Cadet.  He was named Intramural Sports Athlete of the Year in 2005 – 2006.

Wogan is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Charles S. Wogan of Slidell, LA.
